Up to $52,351.20, based on education and experience
Employment:
Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Schedule:

Full time with possible after‑hours and weekend on‑call duties as required by the Children’s Investigative Division.

Responsibilities

  • Carry a caseload of investigations concerning abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults in out‑of‑home residential placement.
  • Complete all investigation activities in accordance with policy and statutory guidelines.
  • Conduct field interviews with victims, witnesses, providers, guardians, accused staff, and other professionals to determine investigative outcomes.
  • Identify policy violations and unauthorized practices during investigations and report concerns to contract and licensing monitors.
  • Collect evidence and documentation, including photographs, videos, written statements, incident reports, police reports, and medical records.
  • Prepare comprehensive written investigative reports including demographic information, interview summaries, evidence, and findings for submission to District Attorney, guardianship courts, and other relevant authorities.
  • Participate in post‑investigation activities such as appearing and testifying in registry hearings and/or criminal proceedings.
  • Serve on an on‑call rotation to respond to priority investigations after hours and on weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting mission, vision, and ethical standards of the agency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of professional experience in investigation, auditing, social work, juvenile justice, personnel administration, law enforcement, child support enforcement, or working with persons with intellectual disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and ability to perform all job‑related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing social service agencies and residential facilities or contract providers.
  • Knowledge of quality control and audit procedures, and of review and investigative techniques.
  • Ability to review and analyze large amounts of information and identify deficiencies.
  • Skill in conducting and documenting field interviews and collecting evidence.
  • Ability to organize and present facts concisely and objectively in written reports and oral testimony.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to testify in court.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role involves significant fieldwork within the community, including visits to private homes and care facilities. Tasks require speaking, standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. The position requires daily use of a laptop computer and cell phone. Travel is required. Presence in the office is an essential function.
