Job Purpose
- A Translator (English to Arabic – Arabic to English) is a professional responsible for translating written or spoken content from English to Arabic or vice versa. This role is critical for facilitating communication and understanding between individuals or groups who speak different languages.
- Translators (English to Arabic– Arabic to English) play a crucial role in various industries, including publishing, international business, government, healthcare, and more, enabling effective communication across linguistic and cultural barriers. They contribute to bridging gaps and fostering understanding between diverse language communities
Key Accountabilities:
Translation: Accurately translate written documents, texts, or spoken content from English to Arabic and vice versa while maintaining the original meaning, style, and tone.
Interpretation: Provide real-time interpretation services for meetings, conferences, interviews, and other events where English and Arabic speakers need to communicate.
Proofreading and Editing: Review and edit translated content to ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to grammar and style conventions in both languages.
Cultural Sensitivity: Consider cultural nuances and context to ensure translations are culturally appropriate and do not cause offense.
Terminology Management: Create and maintain a glossary of industry-specific or technical terms to ensure consistent and accurate translations.
Research: Conduct research to understand the subject matter and stay updated on industry-specific terminology to produce high-quality translations.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and respect for privacy.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to translations, ensuring accuracy, precision, and consistency in language use, grammar, and style while preserving the original meaning and intent of the text.
Time Management: Prioritize and meet deadlines for various translation projects, managing multiple assignments concurrently.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English or Arabic
Experience: Minimum 2 years of translation experience preferably in educational environment
Competencies:
- Native or near-native fluency in both English and Arabic, with a deep understanding of the grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions in both languages
- Knowledge of the cultural nuances, customs, and traditions of both the source and target languages
- Organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills
