Purpose and Summary:
- As part of the CIB Large corporate department, being responsible for maintaining a healthy client portfolio, servicing their requirements and growing the portfolio across the private sector companies (revenues >25Mio OMR), Government and semi-government companies and project finance syndications.
- To own, manage and develop business from large corporate accounts and ensure high level of service delivery is provided to them in line with Bank strategy, business targets and guidelines.
- To develop and provide guidance to the ARMs/RMs/SRMs
Key Deliverables:
- Lead a large corporate unit within CIB for Oman Arab Bank
- Ensure existing corporate portfolio base are well served by understanding their financial requirements, appetite and timing
- Identify profitable business opportunities for the Bank while balancing with related risks
- Achieve the asset growth and profitability targets for large corporate section by selecting sound business opportunities and judiciously spending the Bank's resources for growing the business.
- Maintain strong relationships with the existing clients to protect and retain their business for the Bank and ensure it is managed professionally while maintaining realistic expectations.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and working with the internal departments to evaluate client deals and business opportunities.
- Deal with agent/lead banks for syndication deals.
- Monitor the quality of the existing client portfolio and engage in non-performing loan management.
- Engage with customers to restructure the facility as required
- Review the client proposals and provide inputs before taking
- approvals from the Head of Large Corporates and Head of CIB
- Lead, motivate and influence the team to contribute positively to the Bank's profitability and client relationships.
- Coach and Develop the Large corporate team for revenue target achievement
- Ensure all activities carried out, is as per standard bank’s protocol, policies, processes & procedures (including AML / CFT related policies & procedures).
- Participate in other related initiatives and projects as assigned or other duties as assigned by management.
- Complete all related tasks as delegated by management or reporting Manager.
- Report any suspicious or irregular activities or transactions (if identified) to Compliance division.
- Reporting misconduct behavior as per the whistle blowing policy.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
Skills/Knowledge:
- Commercial acumen and ability to identify relevant business opportunities
- Ability to work and navigate through internal structures within the Bank
- Working under pressure and within strict deadlines
- Relationship management skills
- Effective communication skills – listening, comprehension and understanding client needs
- Advisory skills
- Result orientation and strong conviction to close and execute on deals
- Ability to coach, motivate and develop
- Preferred qualification in business finance or accounting
Experience:
- 10 years of experience in similar roles
Business Understanding:
Strong knowledge of corporate banking related products and services
Sound understanding of credit risk and administration
General knowledge of the economic developments, capital markets and business environment
