Position: Urban Planning Specialist for Communities
Location: Southwestern Ontario
Transform urban landscapes as an Urban Planning Specialist. Facilitate community development projects while fostering partnerships that enhance public and private sector initiatives.
You will coordinate efforts across teams to tackle complex planning challenges and lead multi-faceted projects. This role emphasizes your ability to strengthen client relationships while managing approvals related to site plans and zoning amendments. You’ll engage in impactful public consultation, ensuring community voices are heard.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate comprehensive community development projects
• Manage processing of development applications and amendments
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for project success
• Lead public consultation efforts and report findings
• Guide the professional growth of junior planners
Requirements:
• 7+ years of relevant planning experience
• Degree in Urban Planning;
Master’s a plus
• OPPI membership or eligibility is required
• Strong grasp of local planning policies and practices
• Experience with urban design and public participation strategies
