OptiCost Consulting is a growing Defence advisory firm providing specialist commercial, financial, procurement and project advisory services to the Department of Defence, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and other Commonwealth agencies.
As our Defence practice expands, we are seeking experienced professionals who are looking for more than another consulting role. We are building a team of future leaders with a genuine pathway to Principal Consultant and Partnership.
About the Role
You will work directly with Defence clients on major acquisition and sustainment programs, providing commercial and financial advice across the entire capability lifecycle.
Your work may include:
- Defence Project Financial Management
- Commercial Finance Analysis
- Contract Cost Audits
- Contract Change Proposal (CCP) Financial Assessments
- Tender Evaluation Working Groups (TEWG)
- Commercial and Procurement Advisory
- Pricing Model Development
- Capability Cost Model Development
- Financial Modelling and Investment Analysis
- Business Cases and Executive Briefings
- Contract Negotiation Support
- Cost Estimation and Whole-of-Life Costing
- Training and mentoring APS staff and junior consultants
About You
We're looking for high-performing professionals who possess:
- Minimum 5 years post-qualified experience as a CA, CPA or ACCA
- Current NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance (minimum), with NV2 highly regarded
- Strong experience within Defence, CASG, Commonwealth Government or consulting
- Advanced commercial, financial modelling and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Australian Citizenship
